On LXG
I've just got back from watching
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which I actually thought was quite a rollicking good movie. The amount of planning and detail that went into the making of the movie is truly extraordinary. Thus I only have a few minor quibbles:
Never watch LXG with anyone who can't catch the title when you tell them the first time around.
Never watch LXG with anyone above your age.
Never watch LXG with anyone who can't follow the plot.
Never watch LXG with anyone who no idea that the characters are all famous protagonists of celebrated Victorian works of fiction.
Never watch LXG with anyone who is apt to make comments during the movie ranging from "no wonder this movie never made it to the top" to "how did they get there" to "what happened?"
Never watch LXG with my mother and aunt.
Good thing I didn't watch
Pirates of the Carribean with them.
Best line of the movie:
"What are you?" asks soldier who has blasted Dorian Gray with a machine gun, only to see him heal rapidly and then get stabbed by him.
"I'm complicated," replies Dorian Gray, with a pout.
